Home and Away star Rallies for the Whales
On Saturday, June 16th Catherine Mack, one of the up and coming stars of Home and Away visited two of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s anti-whaling vessels in Balmain, Sydney. Brigitte Bardot manager Simon Ager and Bob Barker manager Andrea Gordon were on hand to show Catherine through the vessels, meet the crew, and talk about Sea Shepherd’s global marine conservation campaigns.
“Growing up on the beach in the surf coast town of Torquay I've always had a very strong affinity and connection with the ocean. I admire and respect the brilliant work that Sea Shepherd does to defend and protect our precious wildlife. Their ongoing, fearless determination to take action to protect our dying oceans is really admirable, and extremely important. It's very upsetting that whales are still being slaughtered in the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary, and I pledge my full support towards the tenacious Paul Watson and the brave, tireless Sea Shepherd crew,” said Catherine Mack.
“We had an amazing day learning more about the Bob Barker and Bridget Bardot, from the generous Sea Shepherd crew. Their passion and dedication is very inspiring,” said Mack.
"It is fantastic to see high-profile people like Catherine come out and publicly support Sea Shepherd, which really helps raise the profile of our marine conservation campaigns and the dire importance of saving our life-supporting oceans," said Jeff Hansen, Sea Shepherd Australia Director.
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society officially welcomes Catherine onboard the “Whales’ Navy” and is looking forward to working with her in the battle to save our oceans.
