Ocean Defenders Alliance (ODA) is a non-profit, grassroots marine conservation organization based in Orange County, California. ODA strives to make our coastal waters safer for ocean wildlife by removing dangerous man-made objects from the sea floor, especially abandoned and lost commercial fishing gear threatening marine mammals, fish, invertebrates and reef systems. ODA carefully liberates marine animals helplessly stuck in abandoned gear that needlessly continues to trap and kill.

Whale Weirdo is a Dutch non-proft organization, founded in 1999 by Drs. Geert-Jan Vons. Geert set-up this organization as an individual effort and initiative aimed principally at the artistic promotion of marine wildlife. The Whale Weirdo way: Painting with acrylic paint on pallets and canvas; Writing, illustrating and publishing educational material; and constructing and painting 3-dimensional objects. Geert is a long-time Sea Shepherd supporter, veteran crewmember, and resident artist (he created the Jolly Roger, Cold As Ice, and Disney Sucks artwork and in 2005 painted a mural on the Society’s flagship, the RV Farley Mowat).
